Movement research sits underneath the commissioned work rather than beside it. Laban Movement Analysis is the tool for reading what a body is already doing, and for deciding what it should do next.

Body Space Place module, MA Creative Practice: Transdisciplinary, Trinity Laban

WHY STAND STILL? was made for the Body Space Place module of the MA Creative Practice: Transdisciplinary at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance.

The project synthesises three disciplines: Laban Movement Analysis, visual arts and interactive installation. It is examined through the lens of Relational Aesthetics, treating the audience as a participant whose movement completes the work rather than as a viewer standing outside it.

The initial sharing was documented through a programme note and photographic record.

Devising methodology and inclusive practice

Arts Council England DYCP award, with This Room Makes Noise

An Arts Council funded DYCP award supported a period of developing practice, investigating methodology and devising with This Room Makes Noise.

The enquiry looked at how inclusive devising and Laban Movement Analysis inform one another in the room, and what it takes for a method to stay usable when the bodies in the room work differently from each other.
